West and East Africa (Congo, Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Angola)

Color:

Reddish-gray to light yellow-brown

Characteristics:

Owing to its regular anatomical structure, it frequently has a very uniform, simple texture with narrow, faint stripes. The stripes on the late wood can be more or less distinct, depending on the location. Occasionally, the pattern is figured or fiddlebacked.

Application:

Crown or quarter cut face veneer for serial furniture (bedrooms), veneer for furniture interiors, high-quality interior finishing and as a substitute for cherry and walnut.
