Creamy white with a slight reddish brown tinge, the heartwood varies from light to dark reddish brown.

Characteristics:

Fine and uniformly structure, usually straight-grained wood, noticeable growth ring borders.

One of the most important kinds of lumber in the U.S.: for furniture, wall paneling, interior finishing, floors, kitchen furniture and pianos.
